9999 Damage, bitch!
Ah, the fruits of an evening's labor. It's been quite some time since my last submission, and I was struck with an odd mood to revisit my Geno fanart. I came to the realization my dinky little sketch was one of my most viewed submissions, so I figured I'd give you guys something a little higher quality to look at.
Now before anyone bashes my technique, let me explain. This is an experiment. Normally, I redo the lines digitally to clean everything up. As you've probably seen, my average sketch is a ragged mess. But here, I though the ragged look was appropriate for a ragdoll. I used a simple Colorization technique which I discovered during the Gardevoir collab, keeping the origional sketchlines intact. The result is what you see here, a dissonant mixure of harsh lines and soft colors. The Whirl was done using paths, and the background was a sample I dug up via Google.
I personally like portraying Geno more of the badass he is than a bishounen. The style is one I don't use often, sort of Sonic the Hedgehog meets Jack Skellington. Enjoy, comment, etc.
